As an Aberdeen fan, I'd like to add

- John Hewitt - for being a supersub and scoring two vital goals, one the winner against Bayern Munich, the other the winner in the '83 Cup Winners Cup final against Real Madrid.

- Theo Snelders, who was signed without actually having been seen playing and who more than replaced another AFC legend, Jim Leighton.

Sounds fair enough to me! Would Mark McGhee be anywhere on the shortlist? Or Gordon Strachan?

I was going to say Ashley Cole for Arsenal - then re-read the category

Where's Sheffield Wednesdays. By the way happy 50th to "The Friday List Of Little Or No Consequence

Thanks P. There's a reason why I didn't include Sheffield Wednesday's Cult Hero. The BBC site doesn't say who won the viewer's vote, and I can't find out anywhere else on the web either.

There was a shortlist of three, and they were Terry Curran, David Hirst and Chris Waddle. Who would you have voted for?

Well Terry Curran and David Hirst are both older cult heroes and were both brilliant, but Waddle was a great, modern day footballer. I would have probably gone for Hirst as Waddle was more a cult hero for Newcastle and Tottenham and while Curran was great, I'll never forget Hirst famous goal against Arsenal where he got he fastest ever recorded shot, when I was there, hit at something like 130mph.

Also I would have Mark Bright in the running as well. Hirst is my choice though.
